Elephant may be the largest land mammal, But whales exceed them
without a hitch by their enormous body size and many other unbelievable facts
and numbers.. By Making ocean as their home whales have gain enough space to
grow themselves and lots and lots of space to find their foods.. Fortunately
These Humble giants made their diet through filter feeding with krill, one of
the smallest living creatures in ocean deep.. Just imagine what if we were on
their menu or any other creatures were on it.. Then definitely ocean will not
be a friendly place for us.. Just thank them, they are the humble giants, Giants
who never harmed us intentionally.. So this post will be tribute to them, to
the ones who keep our oceans Alive in our Time..
01. Mother
Nature has Blessed us with them..
Earth was a home for uncountable
number of creatures through its history.. From single cell organisms to huge
dinosaurs surpassed every known dimensions for us.. But among all of them whales
(Actually Blue whale) are the largest creatures nature have ever made.. Growing
up to 40m in Length Blue whales simply exceeded every animal lived on earth by
its size.. Even the largest Dinosaurs.. And
they are swimming in the ocean with our ships peacefully.. With their friendly
blows and whistling sounds.. Actually we are privileged to have such an
enormous and magnificent animal in our time in natures big book of history.. We
all belong to the same chapter of it..
02. Well They
Live to see generations of You and Me...
In 2007
Marine scientists found a whale near the coast of Alaska belongs to a whale
species called bowhead whale.. Near its head they found a piece of explosive harpoon
arrow, the type of flesh penetrating arrow which used by “peace loving” humans
to hunt “aggressive and war loving” whales.. The 3.5 inch long piece of metal
they found was originally manufactured in Massachusetts in 1890s.. Which means
the sharp iron piece was in its body nearly a 120 years.. It ultimately proved
that whales are among the longest living mammals on earth.. So in a voyage if
you fortunate enough to see a baby whale, look carefully at him.. Who knows,
maybe your grandchildren will stare at him as were you doing now.. Sadly only if
it is not hunted by humans..
03. Actually
They got really Big babies Mom, and perfect copy as your own Little one..
Remember the
10 months that you are pregnant, whales are also the same.. Their pregnancy period
is up to 10 to 12 months.. A new born whale baby is weighing up to 8 tonnes
(Fortunately they were born on ocean, if not their mothers will have to do
world war 3 to bathe them.. it is so hard even with a 3kg baby..), and baby
blue whale drink about 225 liters of milk from its mother every day (simply
enough to fill a bath tub..).. Whale baby gaining 3.7kg of weight in every
hour! And to get that weight whale mothers don’t have to wait till the dad come
to feed their babies.. Whale babies are playful fun loving, little babies
(compared to their parents..) who love to be with their mom.. Whales are
extremely affectionate to their kids.. They love them very much as you love your
little one.. There are even old sailors stories that whale mom destroyed ships
to protect their baby from “Lovely” Humans.. So Mom they got Childs too, you are
the one who can say stop to whale hunting.. Make your voice Loud and help foundations
to save them.. And prove that you are equally giant moms with Little ones as
whale moms..
